Multidisciplinary Arts & School Outreach (MASO)

The Multidisciplinary Arts and School Outreach (MASO) programme increases access to arts education in the Kavango East Region through school outreach and in-house art classes at HOTA.

The School Arts Outreach programme, endorsed by the Kavango East Regional Council Directorate of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts, and Culture (DoEIYSAC), brings visual arts, dance, and theatre directly to primary schools where arts education is often limited or unavailable. Through structured and hands-on sessions, learners build creativity, confidence, teamwork, and basic artistic skills in ways that are engaging and culturally relevant.

Alongside school outreach, HOTA offers multidisciplinary art classes at its space in Rundu. These classes include printmaking, Njembe (traditional drum) classes, visual arts, and theatre. They provide children, youth, and emerging artists with a supportive space to develop skills, explore creativity, and continue learning beyond the school setting.
